The Annual Arab Cultural Capital initiative has been organized by UNESCO (the United Nations' Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) so as to celebrate colorful Arab culture as well as to promote cooperation amongst all the Arab states. In 2007 Algeria's capital, Algiers, has the marvelous privilege of hosting this year-long program.

Algeria’s Economy: Efforts at Job Creation
Controversies of governance and faith should not interfere with the prosperity of people, so job creation is a common concern for all shades of opinion in Algeria. You could be amongst the faithful, or from another school of belief. You might be a person of great influence, or just an ordinary Algerian citizen. You might be young or old or of either sex. The one priority which unites us is to create as many new jobs as possible in Algeria, in next to no time!
The Amazing El Kala National Park
Algeria may lack the creature comforts of a vacation on the either side of the Mediterranean, but it has a rare collection of sights which you may not find anywhere else. The country is a virtual treasure house of our shared heritage. Algeria travel offers marvelous opportunities for entirely new experiences. General security concerns are somewhat exaggerated and Algeria does have a goodly number of reliable tour operators who can look after your basic needs. Prefer the Riviera if you want luxury, but choose Algeria to broaden your time, and to relax at the same time!
The Romance of Timgad
Berbers and Arabs dominate the history of Algeria, but the country also has a splendid remnant of the Roman civilization. It is not very convenient to reach Timgad, but the grand spectacle of the town and fortification built there some two thousand years ago, makes the rigors of Algeria travel worthwhile. The entire area is about one thousand meters above sea level, so it is pleasant even during the hotter months. The countryside around Timgad is desolate, and serves as an object lesson for the benefits of conservation, for it was once a thriving eco-system.
