2009 Oran Rai festival ?

Hi there,

I am planning a trip to Algeria in August and would love to check out the Rai Music Festival in Oran. I have been searching online for information about this years festival but can only find info about past year's festivals.

If anyone knows when the Rai Festival will be this year or can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!

Salam,

I have amended your post slightly, as I am fairly sure that Oran (Wahran) is the place and the festival you're looking for. (The word you had used belongs to a Biblical character, who is (in)famous for something else entirely).

Last year the traditional festival was not held in Oran, and it remains to be seen whether the Minister of Culture intends to make it a 'moveable feast' or if it will return to its roots in Oran.
