Algeria, May. 30, (BNA) The joint Algerian Saudi committee held its third meeting to review the possibility of developing trade exchange between Algeria and Saudi Arabia.

Chairman of Algerian Commerce and Industry Chamber, Ibrahim bin Hayer, affirmed that the Algerian and Saudi businessmen will give economic activities a boost between the two countries in various lively fields. He said that the environment in Algeria was now better attracting more foreign investments especially from Saudi Arabia.

June 2, 2007 -- Saudi conglomerate Savola Group said on Saturday it has sold its 30% stake in Egyptian Fertilisers Company to Abraaj Capital of the United Arab Emirates for more than double its acquisition price.

"The group [Savola] managed... to sell its entire 30% stake in Egyptian Fertilisers Company to Abraaj Capital Group for 1.3 billion riyals ($346.7 million), achieving as a result net capital gains exceeding 700 million riyals," Savola said in a statement.

Savola teamed with a group of Arab investors under a consortium called Citadel Capital Group to buy the 30% stake in mid-2005, it said in the statement. It did not provide a breakdown of ownership in Citadel.

An official of the Egyptian company said on Thursday Abraaj bought the 30% stake in the company for $1.4 billion from Citadel. Abraaj's interest was on expectations that global demand for fertiliser will grow to generate more biofuels.

Savola had offered last year to pay 3 billion riyals to buy the remaining 70% in the Egyptian firm which has a capacity of about 1.3 million tonnes a year.

"Savola is now assessing several new investment opportunities in the petrochemical field and other promising sectors," it said.

"It is using these revenues and its own existing liquidity to fund its expansion projects and investments both inside the kingdom and... in the Middle East and some countries in North Africa and eastern Asia," it added.

Savola said in January it was focusing its expansion drive on Algeria, Iran and Egypt.

Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal owns at least 13% of Savola, a holding he said in January he had boosted.

Savola reported a 2006 net profit of 1.15 billion riyals, down 4.2% from 2005 when earnings were bolstered by the 1.2 billion riyals it made from an initial public offering of dairy subsidiary Al Marai.

Savola Group said in December it would invest over 2 billion riyals in the Saudi real estate market in 2007.

Savola owns several other firms and retailers, including leading edible oil maker Afia, the Azizia Panda supermarket chain and one of the Middle East's largest sugar refiners.

Saleh Al Sorayai. Les opérateurs émiratis sont en phase de finalisation de leurs projets d'investissement qui touchent plusieurs secteurs d'activités.

Sharjah Centre, a joué un rôle actif dans le boom immobilier dont jouissent actuellement les Emirats arabes unis. Les projets de SNASCO couvrent tous les domaines de l'aménagement immobilier, y compris de faible hauteur résidentiels et commerciaux à Sharjah, appelé Al Basateen, ainsi qu'un Centre d'investissement à Sharjah (SIC) à usage industriel mixte.

Par ailleurs, il est à signaler que des projets émiratis entrent en phase de réalisation. Il s'agit des projets des groupes Emaar et Al Qodra, les projets de la Chambre de commerce et d'industrie d'Abu Dhabi et ceux des compagnies Dimo et Amiral. D'autres investisseurs veulent intervenir dans la promotion immobilière par la réalisation et l'exploitation de complexes touristiques et immobiliers ainsi que des centres commerciaux.

Dans l'immobilier, les Emiratis comptent investir dans les villes intelligentes du type Sidi Abdellah, la construction d'hôtels et des centres d'affaires. Les hommes d'affaires émiratis montrent un intérêt très remarqué à étendre leurs investissements en Algérie. Tous les secteurs intéressent ces opérateurs économiques arabes et en particulier l'industrie, l'agriculture et l'habitat qui présentent des opportunités importantes.

Création d'une société algéro-saoudienne d'investissement

Dimanche 16 Mars 2008 -- Une société algéro-saoudienne d'investissement a été créée à l’issue de l’assemblée générale constitutive tenue mercredi dernier à Alger, qui a réuni les représentants des ministres algérien et saoudien des Finances, a-t-on appris hier auprès du département de M. Djoudi.

Cette société d’investissement, dont le siège est à Alger, est dotée d’un capital déclaré de huit milliards de DA, ajoute-t-on. Les principales activités de cette société portent essentiellement sur la création et/ou participation dans des projets d’investissement, l’octroi de crédits d’investissement et le leasing (crédit-bail).

March 18, 2008 -- Leading real estate firm, SNASCO, whose intention to enter the Algerian real estate market was recently reported, has announced the opening of its offices in Hydra- Algeria, following an intensive examination of the market and the opportunities inherent therein.

Le groupe immobilier saoudien SNASCO s'installe à Alger

Mardi 18 Mars 2008 -- Un nouveau groupe du Golfe attiré par l'Algérie. La société immobilière saoudienne SNASCO qui avait fait savoir son intérêt pour l’Algérie vient d’annoncer l’ouverture d’un bureau à Hydra de manière à suivre avec attention les opportunités du marché algérien.

Le bureau d’Alger servira à rayonner sur tous les pays du Maghreb. Talal Al Sorayai, directeur général du groupe, assure vouloir « s’ouvrir le marché algérien, produire des études et rechercher des nouveaux projets qui trouveront leurs débouchés dans les six prochains mois ».

Le groupe saoudien SNASCO pour un projet de 2.000 logements

Samedi 5 juillet 2008 -- Oran sera la première wilaya à l'échelle nationale qui verra la réalisation du premier projet de logements haut standing par le groupe saoudien de développement immobilier SNASCO. Une convention cadre a été signée, mercredi, entre l'Entreprise de promotion de logement familial (l'EPLF) et le groupe SNASCO lors d'une cérémonie organisée à l'hôtel Royal. C'est le directeur général de l'EPLF d'Oran et le président-directeur général du groupe, M. Salah Bin Nacer Abdelaziz Al Sorayaa, qui ont signé ensemble cet accord. Il s'agit d'un projet de 2.000 logements qui sera réalisé dans la partie Est d'Oran sur un terrain de 10 hectares, situé en face du projet du Palais des congrès, en cours de concrétisation par Sonatrach. Dans le cadre de ce grand projet, le groupe saoudien compte également prendre en charge l'aménagement de la façade maritime Est, située non loin du tribunal d'Es-Seddikia.

Pour son premier projet immobilier en Algérie, le groupe saoudien dit investir dans des opérations style Abu Dhabi avec la réalisation, en plus des 2.000 logements, de centres d'affaires et de loisirs et de môles qui sont des ouvrages de protection de l'entrée, réalisés au niveau du port. Sur le financement de ce grand projet, rien n'a filtré de la part de l'opérateur saoudien, ni sur l'estimation du projet, ni si un montage financier est prévu. Les représentants du groupe ont juste assuré que pour la réalisation du projet, ils ont reçu l'appui du gouvernement algérien et que le bureau d'étude à qui a été confiée l'étude du projet est suisse. Comme carte de visite, le groupe saoudien exhibe celle du projet « El Bassatine » et du centre d'investissement « Sharjah » qui comporte une diversité de services et de prestations proposés.
