SINGAPORE, July 2, 2007 (Thomson Financial) - Keppel Corp said its unit Keppel Seghers has secured a $Sg7.2 million* contract from the National Environment Organisation of Algeria to design, build and operate a wastewater treatment plant in Laghouat province, Algeria.

The plant will be completed in 2008 and Keppel Seghers will operate it for two years.

This is its fifth contract in Algeria, the company said.

'Keppel Seghers is well positioned to provide its expertise in EPC [engineering, procurement and construction] services and operation & maintenance for large water treatment projects to our customers in Algeria and the rest of the Maghreb countries and the Middle East. We plan to continue to strengthen our presence in this region,' it said in a statement.
