    Common Sense Advisory names Tahar Bouhafs as CEO


    February 4, 2008 -- Common Sense Advisory, Inc. has hired Tahar Bouhafs for the newly created role of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Bouhafs will be extending the company's leadership in research, consulting, and innovative services for the business globalization, localization, and translation sectors. He is well known in the industry analyst business due to his tenure at Forrester Research.

    Common Sense Advisory reports a dramatic increase in the demand for the services it offers: independent consulting services and research on issues related to website globalization, product and software localization, and translation.

    Common Sense Advisory’s consulting clients include global companies from the information technology, medical device, telecommunications, consumer goods, and travel industries. “We regularly help companies rationalize their global business requirements; advising them on technology and service offerings,” said Don DePalma, the company’s Chief Research Officer. “Tahar's experience in academia, research, and business development gives Common Sense Advisory a seasoned industry executive capable of managing our surge in business growth and one who is more than capable of taking our organization to the next level.”

    Prior to Joining Common Sense Advisory, Mr. Bouhafs was a Strategic Business Consultant for Management Ventures (MVI) a WPP company based in Cambridge, MA, and served as vice president at exevo, an international Knowledge Process Outsourcing firm serving market research organizations.

    Mr. Bouhafs spent more than a decade with Forrester Research, focused on the company's international expansion from the early 90s forward. He served on the executive team and led the company’s international expansion. He was responsible in helping Forrester grow from a small U.S.-centric, privately-held boutique into a US$180 million publicly-traded market leader servicing clients in more than 40 countries.

    Earlier, Mr. Bouhafs was a faculty member in the Computer Science departments at Fitchburg State College and Boston University. He began his career as head of planning at SONATRACH and the GTE/SONELEC Turnkey Electronics venture.

    Tahar Bouhafs holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Boston University, and an M.S. in Management from HULT International Business School of Management. He attended ESSEC in Paris, France and ESC in Algiers, Algeria.

    Samedi 9 Février 2008 -- Tahar Bouhafs, d’origine algérienne, vient d’être nommé PDG de la société américaine de conseil en systèmes informatiques Common Sense Advisory basée sur la cote est des Etats-Unis, selon une information publiée sur le site Internet de l’entreprise.

    Le nouveau PDG a fait toute sa carrière à l’université de Fitchurg State College, aux Etats-Unis, avant de passer dans le privé comme consultant en stratégie. Il a notamment travaillé pour le grand cabinet international Forrester Research, en tant que Directeur international puis responsable de la zone Afrique-Asie-Moyen-orient. Tahar Bouhafs avait commencé sa carrière en Algérie, en tant que chef de projet chez Sonatrach puis chez Sonelec.
