Algeria and Finland signed an agreement Tuesday for the payment ahead of time of Algeria's debt to Finland, according to the news agency Algérie Presse Service (APS) Wednesday.
The bilateral agreement was signed in Algiers by Mourad Medelci, Algeria's foreign minister, and Kaija Ilander, Finnish ambassador to Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. The repayment, totalling 11.8 million dollars, is to be completed by Friday.
Algeria's early repayment to Finland comes after a total of eleven similar agreements made with other Paris Club countries following a multilateral agreement signed with the club in May.

June 25, 2008 -- Stonesoft has received a noticeable order from the Algerian Ministry of Healthcare at the value of more than 700,000 Euros. The delivery will take place during this quarter.
The order is related to the second phase of a project through which the Ministry of Healthcare will modernize its network. Stonesoft has earlier delivered StoneGate technology to the ministry during the first phase of the project in 2007.
"This order further strengthens Stonesoft’s position in Algeria and manifests our competence and commitment to fulfill our customers’ network security needs also in large and critical service offerings", said Ilkka Hiidenheimo, CEO of Stonesoft Corporation.
This order has been taken into consideration in the announced estimate of our annual overall net sales for this year. At this stage it is too early to estimate potential impacts of possible further phases to our net sales in the future.

June 29, 2009 -- Stonesoft Corporation entered into a strategic partnership with the leading national telecommunications company Algeria Telecom in 2008. The partnership contract has now been renewed by a contract that is in force for one year at the time, for a maximum period of three years, unless terminated. The value of orders to be made annually under this frame agreement is at the minimum two (2) million Euros and at the maximum eight (8) million Euros. The frame agreement is also strategically significant to the company.
Stonesoft has received first orders related to the frame agreement and their value is in total 1.2 million Euros. The deliveries will take place even during this quarter.
"These orders further strengthen Stonesoft's position in Algeria and demonstrate our competence and commitment to fulfill our customers' network security needs in large and critical service offerings", said Ilkka Hiidenheimo, CEO of Stonesoft Corporation.
The company estimates that taking into consideration these deliveries to Algeria, the invoicing and net sales of the company will amount to approximately six (6) million Euros during the second quarter, which is approximately 3 to 12 percent less than in the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
