    Slow downloads? It depends one your connexion speed and in the other side the speed of the server you are downloading from.
    I doubt you have a slow internet connexion, but you might be a victim of a worm breathing all your bandwidth. Juts my thoughts went there because it looks like you're getting those weird error messages that don't make sense.
    Get the last update of your Antivirus, or rebuild your system from the scratch ... and hey, this is your best bet.
