UDcast has signed a contract with Algerie Telecom as the Algerian operator deploys 1500 satellite sites over the Algerian territory.
According to the terms of the contract, Algerie Telecom Satellite (a subsidiary of Algerie Telecom) has ordered 1500 UDcast UDgateway appliances to install and tenfold the performance of 1500 satellite sites that will be gradually installed over the Algerian territory.
The installed broadband will be available to the branches of the six state banks, including La Banque Centrale d'Algerie and The Algerian Post, and will assure the reliability and the complete security of inter bank clearing operations.
UDcast has designed and developed the UDgateway(R) to enable broadband Internet access totally adapted to two way satellite systems, essential to remote locations or that are impacted by the digital divide.
"From all view points the choice of UDcast answered all of our technical demands, appreciated our commercial worth and put our goals within reach," declares Mahieddine Maache, general manager of Algerie Telecom Satellite, a subsidiary of Algerie Telecom. "The quality of UDcast equipment implanted on the satellite infrastructure enables us to answer to our client demands in the banking industry with a secure and competitive service. This is essential for us."
"UDcast welcomes this contract that highlights the trust that Algerie Telecom puts in its expertise and its response capacity to large projects," emphasizes Hubert Zimmermann, chief executive officer of UDcast. "In the same way as our present growth on the mobile TV market and our ongoing expansion of IP over satellite, the present case in Algeria confirms the accuracy of our choices and the expertise of our solutions, both of which we are proud."
UDcast has been a player on the Algerian market since 2005 with several contracts, notably with the Ministere de la Jeunesse et des Sports and Sonelgaz Company (Societe Nationale de l'Electricite et du Gaz).
