    Apple vs. PC

Interesting old Apple ad from 1990 showing the differences between PC and Apple laptops back in the days (DOS vs monochrome but graphical interface) set on an airport.

The guy in the suit tries to execute commands in DOS on his old draggable PC and goes ‘I speak seven languages but I can’t understand this’. The girl on the other hand - using an early Apple laptop of impressive size - does her airport business computing like it ain’t no thing using the (even then) graphical interface.

    White laptops
    and guru Seth Godin's musing:
" Walked into Starbucks two days ago and saw five people with laptops. Every single one a white Mac. Five unrelated people out of five, same machine.

When your entire culture is organized about being the other, the outsider, the insurgent, the one that's better than the masses... (like Starbucks, btw), what do you do when you are the masses?

    It's a good problem to have, but it's still a problem. "

The Geeky Ritual of Unboxing a Mac

    This guy has the pictures

and this one describes The Geeky Ritual of Unboxing a Mac:

"The unboxing should be performed in a setting of ultimate zen-like calm and tranquility. The phone should be taken off the hook, wives given money to go off and buy shoes, children allowed to run riot on the busy road outside.

Play music. Burn incense. Turn down the lights..."

Volutpat.
