sorry these are not algerian recipes , i forgot how to cook algerian (im algerian ) and kids dont like algerian or Moroccan food either , so i mix and match ..

    Tandoori chicken is nice

Chicken pieces with no skin , cut through the flesh deep cut , add salt and lemon juice (2tab of juice ) let rest

in another bowl add One cup of Natural Yogurt (Onken Biopot is the best ) add 2tab of cumin powder , 2 tab of paprika, 1/2 of chillip powder , 1 teaspoon of Turmeric , 1teasp of Garam Masala (I make my own fresher ) 1 teasp of garlic in pulp , 1teasp of ginger pulp too. mix the chicken in this mix let marinade the whole night in the fridge is best , cook in a hot oven for half an hour (dont forget to turn pieces ) It is deliciious with salads and naan bread .

Kebabs : ground beef , add grated onion (half ) 2 garlic in pulp , 2tab of cumin powder , pepper , salt , 2 tab of fresh Coriander freshly chopped , one raw egg , mix everything , shape into kebabs (like sausages ) Grill under hot grill :15mns , serve with salad , pitta bread and pickles .

Thanks Nesreen, that`s helpful and encouraging

I also like chicken karahi, If you have a simple and quick way of doing it, can you please let me know?

Also Beriani which I adore very much.

I am sorry to hear that your husband is imposing his food culture though

The kids try sth lightweight for them, may be you could put some indian spices!
