    Not sure about what these cakes are called because my dad, a verified diabetic knows nothing about anything sweet, their the nut cakes with a pistachio on top and are really really sweet and gooey!, sorry not really specific! but their lush! anyone know what i may be on about? if so have you got a recipe i could have?

    that actually sounds familiar! they come in a diamond shape and you have to buy a kilo of them!

    Yep I live in the near the turkish area of London and baklawa is everywhere but they're very popular in Algeria and arabic countries, they use pistachios a lot

    Your a star! those cakes are god if he were edible!. there used to be a shop in swansea which sold them so used to pig out on them all the time (not so good for dieting!) yum yum, Im going to do my dads head in shopping tommorow for all the ingredients! i will make a cook of myself yet! and even more cakes when i get to algeria! huzzah!. life is good but more importantly food is!

    Yeah baklawa are not common in wales, there used to be an old provisions market in Newport, in it was a very old delli and they sold them, only place I seen them in Wales, they're everywhere here, maybe they have them in Cardiff, just have to find a turkish shop
