Salam Algerian Zorro ,yep you got it there ..but you should know that in Morocco not every tribe uses T3am as a second name to cous cous ,If it is Used in Other parts of Africa it is because those tribes are closer in what you have said "language add culture /roots"
that's ok !
Oh okhty Houda you thought alots of things and I knew in a long time that doubts destroys freindship relationship etc..just like cooking you can't assume your mom added salt in the food or not you have to ask first!
otherwise it will spoil the taste !
When you asked me and I knew you misunderstood me .I've explained it and I pray you and your family are doing well
and that all North Africans are enjoying good Cous cous!
whether this Friday or another day
Wassalam,

Verry intersting finds about couscous
, may I add something,
so taam, kseksou, barboucha, for the est and some of south of Algeria, and ferther south it can be called also seffa and naama, and even r'fis( not the one with the dates).
For what I learned this fine form of pasta was created by nomades, when they setteled in oasis for few days the women use to roll the couscous grain form the the durum wheat flour and let it dry then it was easy to store it for months and even years, and when they needed it it was easy to make
So the name came from: sometime halfway thru the dryiing process of the couscous , they fed their chickens with it , so they called cous cous cous cous!!...
Thats what I learned from my grand mother
