jazakallah khair for that quick reply! i will insha-Allah definately try it!! I hope i get it right! But the recipe it states does not contain carrots or chicken so do i just have to boil the chicken and then add it to the dish?

3afwan ya sofia, you are welcome, no need to thank me, I merely passed khti Amina's recipe on to you. She is the best one to answer your question re: chicken and carrots I think, in her 'variations' she mentioned a few additions but I would bow to her expertise when it comes to culinary arts. You may be sure that you will get good advice from her so be sure to call back over the next couple of days.

You guys call this checkchouka, we call it shtitha (but there is another kind of shtitha as well).

Shakhshoukha in our locality is a traditional dish like Ettereeda.

Never heard of chtit'ha, i mean apart from chtit'ha belham

Don't confuse Sofia with chakchouka and chakhchoukha which are two different dishes
