The Best Restaurants in London (or elsewhere)

If you have any good restaurant in London, please share with us

    Momo
    25-27 Heddon Street, LONDON, W1B 4BH

    Location and Punters:
Momo is the nearest thing to an authentic Moroccan restaurant outside of Marrakech! Since opening its doors in 1997, it has attracted a regular following of fashionable punters in search of something different. The nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus.

    Atmosphere and Décor:
The setting is sheer drama and escapism! The owner, Algerian Mourad Mazouz (who also owns the chic 404 in Paris) has recreated at Momo, the evocative atmosphere of an authentic Moroccan restaurant.

The scene – low wooden chairs, tables where punters sit jowl by jowl (albeit, fashionably dressed!), ornate eastern lamps with their subdued lighting, elaborate timber screens, stunning artefacts, even mud on the walls upstairs – is a feast in itself!

Kemia, the downstairs, private members bar, also has low tables, but with upholstered banquettes and more North African ornaments dotted around the room. The rich colours, patterned rugs and incense burning all contribute to the intoxicating atmosphere and the mood throughout is lively and exuberant with service to match.

    AL CASBAH

    3 Beauchamp Place, London, SW3 1NG
    Telephone 020 7584 2420

Al Casbah is a typical Algerian restaurant specialising in North African cuisine. The interior and atmosphere are reminiscent of Algerian and Morrocan cafes, with regular live music and belly dancing.

Momo - is really nice, the tajines are very nice and the surroundings make you feel at home.

Pasha at Gloucster Road, in London is another nice restaurant with excellent food.

there is also another Al Casbah in Hampstead (on the high street, I think).

I haven't been to Momo for awhile. The last time I was there, both the food and atmosphere seemed to have changed.

    Levant is nice for Lebanese.
