the best part is to go around the "souk" and get all my vegetables and meat and fruit and bread !

après cela il suffit de bonne humeur et tous les ingrédients s'assemblent comme par magie. Je suis incapable de faire deux fois la même recette, je n'utilise jamais de livre ou bien juste pour l'inspiration, je suis la reine pour utiliser les restes de la veille !!

Yep ,I do the same thing .
I cook with what ever I have in the house (food of cource ) . and I love experimenting with spices . Any ideas ?
I cook when I'm feeling low , I cook when I'm feeling happy . I love it .
Sometimes I use ideas from books and I twiste them , or if they are simple , I just do it that way

I like to cook if I'm doing the entire thing by myself - so I can marvel at my creation later. But what I hate - what I absolutely DESPISE - is when my mom asks me to help her cook! All I do is stir some stuff in a pot and pull a muscle/burn my hand and in the end, I can't do any marveling... . (yes that sounds weird, bas who cares )

Dont you think that you would regret every single minute you did not spend with her .

Or when you get married maybe in a different state or country even , would'ent you want your mom closer , for sure after a while

I used to have time I wiched somebody will come to get me out of the kitchen , I did not like beeing there with mom

Then when I figured there was no way out , I just told my self to better learn liking beeing with her , a friends mom passed away , it scared me .
So I started loving beeing with her in the kitchen , and started loving cooking , and I learned how to cook .
It was never good enough but , thats ok , thats my mom

But most of all I got closer to her , and she become my best friend

no no, that's not what i meant... i like being w/ my mom (kinda) bas what drives me crazy is that the tabkha isn't mine... even if i helped make it. I either have to make the whole thing or nothing....
