    I like this Harissa stuff.
It is more like Indian than international.
There are lots of varieties of pickles in India resembling Harissa.

    Nesreen,

Brinjal pickle? Not heard of it here.

    Do not send them pickles.
Instead, teach them how to make it.

    Late forties..?

That is the age women take to making pickles here in India.
Younger women / girls do not want to waste time in doing that.

You may be right , as children are no more babies and women have more time to bake and be more creative , but i would rather surf the net instead
when i was in my teens and twenties , i used to spend my afternoons trying new recipes and my family enjoyed everything , from pancakes to apple struddel , to samosas , to baklava , etc... i almost taught myself , locking myself in the kitchen with my books and ingredients while mom and gran ma napped . i used to enjoy it . family was strict so i was mostly at home if not at High school or UNI .
