I want to purchase a good Algerian recipe book. Can anyone recommend one? Yes, its easy to go on the net and find what you need, but sometimes just having a book gives you peace of mind and confidence in the kitchen, especially when mother-in-laws are exceptional cooks!

Also I want to purchase a 'tabih'(Lebonese word, is it the same in Algerian???) A wooden mold for ma'amoul?

i don't know where u can buy one, we got ours from syria... but u can probably find one at ur local arab market ... or online...

for the cookbooks, u can find cookbooks online and have them delivered to ur house

i have a few books from Algeria which i wont recommend . they do not have authentic algerian recipes but more like the general recipes everyone uses , like cake and custard , soup with onions , salad with anchovies, sauce bechamel etc.... i will be travelling to Algeria soon and i will inshallah check the bookstores if i find anything interesting i might give you a name .
