Mhajeb are called Messemen in Oran and even in Morocco .
They make it all the time in Morocco with tea or filled with onion , meat , and spices during Ramadan .
    Friendship

[60:8] GOD does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. GOD loves the equitable.

[60:9] GOD enjoins you only from befriending those who fight you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band together with others to banish you. You shall not befriend them. Those who befriend them are the transgressors

so it's called messemen in oran...good to learn that! in some regions in algeria ''messemen'' is different from m'hadjeb, it's prepared in the same way but without any stuffing..some people prefer to add syrup...it's for breakfast....both of them are delicious

It is messemen with butter and Honey with tea and coffee and Messemen Ma3amaar when stuffed . Usually Oran is not known for the stuffed messemen but Morocco is really the place for it , you can even find it in markets and small cafes and Delis (where i buy mine as it can be trusted from Traiteurs as Rahal etc..)
Many moroccans take the stuffed ones for picnics or serve them with Harira in Ramadan too .
