Someone else did it for me, and it was very very very delicious with almonds and pistache.

Let's call it 'baklawa' please ! Isn't that what we call it in Algeria? Mama mia, it's so expensive to buy ready-made !! Also, sometimes it tastes awful because of the type of fat used. So, my advice is DON'T BUY TOO MUCH in one go; you might end up throwing it away! Otherwise, bloody enjoy it ! Happy Eid to you all on Friday!!

    Question baklava moments

I happened to be browsing some info on local cooking classes and stumbled upon one for baklava today...think I'll probably sign up and give it a go. Is it hard?

And then, later in the day I was at a market and came across local, organic "lavendar honey." It sounds soooo good, and was on sale (last day of this summer market), and I almost bought it but didn't, as I'm not yet sure what kind of honey is needed. But I know where I can get it now if needed.

Anyone know whether "flavored" honeys are a good fit as an ingredient in baklava? I love to experiment, so might just give it a try anyway. If I succeed, I'll have something 'new' to bring to parties every so often.
