    Dear Cousins

    What is Algeria’s national food. This got me thinking, in Morocco every Friday the national dish is cooked : THE COUSCOUS. For thoose who don’t know what Cous Cous is it is generally composed of wheat semolina steamed over a stew of lamb or chicken accompanied with vegetables and garbanzo beans.

    So what is Algeria’s national food ? Is it the Cous Cous also ?

    Houda-K do you have the recipe for bastila---my favorite Moroccan dish? I know the pastry part must take practice.

    I think Couscous is a national dish in algeria too.
    I've read yesterday in local newspapers that these days, they will try in algeirs to beat the guiness record of the biggest cousous dish.
    Hope they will not invite me coz I'm afraid this dish will not be enough for me

    Hee hee I love Cous Cous, not a good Moroccan chef, but I try my best !
