    Talking

    Khoya,

Masha Allah @ your posting and choukrane for the Algerian version of Chourba ~ I can’t get over the fact that you guys use cinammon in both your Chourba and Harira.

Oh an mint leaves ~ interesting combination, so many unique ways of making one recipe.

Oh and one other thing Khoya, what is zucchini?

Keep up the postings in this section, Travel and the Sport section, it’s great to read and learn more about the Algeria’s cultural heritage, shame their ain’t one about Algerian attire

Zucchini is courgette. The americans, canadians and australians call it zucchini, which is orginally from french.

wasalaam Houda - oh about the harira- well, i'm so embrassed to tell you that i haven't tried it yet! LOL- you see when i get home i hardly get a chance, but inshaAllaah soon. Made some tuna boureks yesterday, Or whatever its called, some people liked them and others didn't!!! LOLOL

Alhamdiullah ramadhaan is going well, although i wish i wasn't at work - it seems as if i'm wasting time.
    Hows you and yours?

Hey, you shouldn’t be embarrassed ~ silly billy. I made Harira yesterday, if you live in London, I could send you some.

As for Bourek, I never considered of stuffing them with Tuna. I only fill them with Chicken and raisins or Minced meat. Hummmmmmm I may just try fish

As for cooking, with honesty. I don’t cook during the week. I cook in the weekends, and prepare for the week, by freezing it. So when I fancy a Bastilla {Moroccan chiken pie} I just shove it in the oven. I don’t have the time not the energy to prepare and cook for a meal, if I did my life would consist of beans on toast ~ morning and supper!

Ramadan, is hard this year as I am behind in reading the Qu’ran and I don’t pray Taraweeh in the Mosque, so I’m spiritually not satisfied @ all. I’ve been speaking to a few sisters and they feel the same way, I can’t seem to put my finger on it whether it’s work or my mental preparation of ensuring that I beneit every night ~ Allahu’ Alam

    Assalaamu alaykum Houda

How are you today? Hows the fasting going today- any change? This ramadhaan seems slightly weird - i had to remind myself the other morning that i was fasting! LOLOL- in the beginning i was all geared up and now i'm slowly slowing down!

i guess, we didn't do enough preparation before ramadhaan itself - stick to reading the Qur'aan - it always helps.

yes, i live in London and i would love not only to taste your harira but also your bastilla! mmmm.....i'm hungry! LOL

    You take care
