Ingredients:
1 kg flour
250g melted butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons orange-flower water
50g ground sesame seeds
Water
~ 1l oil
Honey
Sesame seeds
FIRST STEP
Mix the flour and butter
Then add salt, ground sesame seeds and baking powder and mix well
Add both eggs
Add the orange-flower water and enough water to obtain a soft dough
SECOND STEP
Flatten the dough
Then cut rectangles (10cm length x 7cm width) and make three cuts inside each rectangle.
Shape the griwech pieces, that’s the part where you have to see someone do it in front of you, so I won’t explain.
While you’re doing this, heat the oil.
LAST STEP
Fry the griwech pieces in hot oil.
Before serving, soak in warm honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds -if preferred-.

Houda chebikiya taste different to these , moroccons use more ingrediants and it turns out a much darker colour to griwech. Try these ones you will love them
