    Talking

Do Algerians make/ eat Harcha ? For those who have no idea what I'm talking about then

~ Harcha is a like a hard pancake made of semolina.

    Ingredients:

~ 400 g of fine soaked semolina to water
    ~ 1/ 2 spoonful of salt
    ~ 50 g of sugar
    ~ 100 g of softened butter
    ~ 3/ 4 of a glass of water

    Preparation:

Mix the semolina, with salt and sugar then insert the butter. Well mix, knead and wet of some water until getting a dough a little soft.

Shape the pancakes of 1 cm of thickness and cook on soft fire in a dry stove for 5 to 10 mn of each side.

    Dead easy to make

    Preparation:

Mix the semolina, with salt and sugar then insert the butter in a bowl/ container. Mix well with your fingers and knead the mixture. Wet some water until the dough become a little soft.

Sprinkle a little bit of semolina on the Mekla {pan} before shapeing the pancakes onto the and then cook the Harcha on a slow fire.

I can’t seem to find a 'teswira' of the pancake, I did try but to no avail

But hey, I thought you didn’t want 'teswira' of food on this forum
