Sisters you're so sweet! You both contribute such informative and well thought of posts...keep them coming. Incha'Allah I'll post some recipes, especially those I love from family members.
Btw, (off the subject)I think doing pilates is wonderful for keeping in shape. I have a high metabolism, but I've noticed that in later years my female older relatives put on weight in all the wrong placesso I've taken the initiative to work out. I love many of the Ayurveda concepts on keeping fit, without of course following any of its religious undertones. I use to watch my grandfather mixing herbs for medicinal purposes and performing stretching exercises, a lot of this tradition inspired my father to study medicine in the Western sense, but always with traditional ideals of feeding the soul and mind. Incha'Allah you're both blessed with a long and healthy life...same goes for all forum members.

Baraq Allah feeq Khti Bushra.
I’m the opposite of you Khti ~B ~ I have a slow metabolism/
I can’t seem to find the patience of either pilates and yoga and can't concentrate. It's almost like that I need a rush and adrenaline to keep me going, and anything slowing me down, I don't find satisfying. Does what I say make any sense ?

You're making perfect sense sister. I was very rush-rush also and almost found it impossible to exercise to such routines as yoga. Then I started to relax and take things in my personal life to a slower pace and now I've benefited tremendously from such regimes. We live in such a fast working world we can't even hear our own thoughts and wishes, but I just changed and the patience to do things I couldn't fathom to do before started to become second nature. You know what's great are relaxing exercises while listening to nasheeds. Swimming to me is the best way to work out, as well as walking. I need to accommodate Muslim life around these activities now because I am not easily deterredOriginally posted by HOUDA-K
