Utensils for making Mint Tea
SINIYA
A tray on three legs, made of brass or electroplate, on which are placed the tea glasses and teapot, a smaller tray for three cylindrical boxes , made of the same material as the tray, in which are kept the tea, the sugar and the mint.
KISEN
Are cute small decorated glasses :
MEKRAJ
The kettle for boiling the water, or a "samovar" really beautifully chased in brass electroplate. Shame I can’t find a picture to show you.
MAKING TEA
Rinse the teapot with three quarters of a litre of hot water.
Place two or three teaspoons of green tea in the pot and pour a little boiling water on it, removing the water afterwards.
Add lump sugar to taste, {{ the sweeter the better}} and then fill half the tea~pot with boiling water.
Add fresh mint sprigs and I also use Chinese gunpowder, you could also add Sheba too
Leave for a moment & then serve in the glasses.
