A national army unit confronted last Saturday overnight a terrorist group of four elements in Ain Alam in the Wilaya of Etaref. The army forces managed to exchange fire and arrest one of the terrorists. The three others were able to flee.

The terrorist group went to that place to buy some food and medicine supplies. Security services were tipped off about that and encircled them. The arrested man threw down his weapon and shouted calling for national reconciliation... He is from Ain Barbar (Wilaya of Annaba), reliable sources confirmed.

The French authorities opened yesterday a legal investigation on the death of an Algerian citizen who fell from a plane. His body was found last Monday night in Roissy, near the airport.

Media sources did not reveal the name of the Algerian victim and explained that the Algerian authorities were informed and air customs officers are still investigating to identify the plane from which the victim fell and to find out the way he managed to enter the plane and disappear from the undercarriage. They also notified the Algerian consulate services of the available information and asked for information about the victim’s family to complete the inquiry.

Primary information indicates that the one the farmers of the neighbouring area of the airport found the body which formed a 30 cm hole under the impact of the fall’s power. Some identity papers were found near the victim. The fall is supposed to have happened about 48 hours before the body was found at 6 o'clock in the evening, according to last Tuesday's forensic report, which means that the accident occurred last Saturday at the latest.

A suspect escaped from a holding cell in a police station in Aegaleo, western Athens, during the early hours of yesterday morning, police said. The 32-year-old Algerian national used some type of blade to cut through the bars on the window of his cell and then climbed into an unguarded area, according to officers.

A 21-year-old woman, a Romanian national, has been accused of helping an Algerian inmate to escape from a jail in Aegaleo earlier this month, police said on Saturday. The woman is believed to have smuggled a cutting tool into the holding cell enabling the prisoner to escape.
