Theres more than just Algerian and Algerian kabyle. Get educated people:

There are 17 languages in Algeria. The most common are Arabic, French, Amazigh (Kabylie region), Chaouia, Chenoua )Chenoui), Targi, etc... Just type 'Languages Algeria' in google and you will find a site that has all 17. 2-3 have their majority in Morocco and are also spoken in Algeria. Some are spoken in Algeria-Libya. Others are Algeria-Mali-Niger languages.

    anyways take care xx

It very embarrassing to call my self “arab” come on, look at the situation of most Arabic countries, most of them are rich countries. I take these countries as they are part of the us states, I take my self as being Algerian/Kabayli thats what am proud of

Yea that’s true, I have been asked a lots of times in Algeria if am Algerian kabayile of Arab Algerians, kabayiles are the people who lived in Algeria for thousands of years ago, and most of these Arabs have came from Europe I think.

there are 2 types of people in general in algeria... one algerians and the other algerian kabyles...kabyles peak a totally different language only about 10 words are from arabic... the rest is berberie/kabyle...
as for the algerians... they're just algerians!.. not arabs... we speak similiar arabic but trust me some words no one would be able to understand...
    so there you have it..

Speak for your self algerian_gal. If you aren't arab there are millions of Algerians who are. I for one.

Plus there is no such categories such as "Algerian" and "Algerian Kabyles"
Sorry friend but that is non-sens. Either you speak about all of us as Algerians, or if you want to get into ethnies or blood you specifiy the groups, Arabs, Berbers (Kabyles, Mozabites, Touareg...) and others.

I am not the idiot who would go and suggest that any of these groups are better or worse than the other, so that's not my point(I am not saying you did neither)

Lotfi-DK you say that it's embarassing to be an Arab, I could agree when it comes to how little cooperation and support we arabs have shown each other especially in times of crises. But from being critic and embarassed at my own failure to becomming ashame or embarassed of my origin and roots there is a long way to go.

    Take care you nice people,
    Algerians and non-Algerians alike

Lotfi its upto you what you identify your self with...if you are Kabyle then fine you are not an Arab Algerian. To say you are embarassed to be called an Arab is quite sad.

I would consider myself Arabic, African, British and most importantly a citizen of the world.
If i consider myself Arabic, it is simply because my roots are there and is no reflection whatsoever on any Arabic countries. After all we are all individuals regardless of where we come from n'est pas?

    Peace xxx
