    well.......
zama zama might be in arabic meaning 'past'... but in kabyle it means pretend!... anyway... yeh true say hald da songs sang are in arabic but thats because the general language in algeria is algerian so... but there are some famous kabyle singers!anyway.....
for me .. i dont really mind if any1 is arab algerian or kabyle but i must say that when somneone says that they are kabyle im very proud of them.... its kinda cool here in london when someone says ' yeh im kabyle' or even when they say im algerian..... its just the thought of being agerian or them being algerian that counts... but me.... i love being kabyle!
    anyway
    cool it now.....

Algeria is a place of deserts, and mysterious woman, i have never been there, and algeria is a very closed country because of many things, it's not as closed as lybia, and not so chaotic as western sahara, it's a very large country, global warming have put more vapour in the globe, like in algeria and tunisia, as you can see now in google earth, it's a young country and a country of the future, so the algeria's culture is not worried about girls, because have got more important things to solve: about water, food, in the future algeria will be like tunisia, a tourism country, lybia is very different, lybian sahara is very dry:
"The desert is a real treasure
    for those seeking refuge
    men, the wickedness of men.
    In it there is contentment,
it is death and all you seek."

I don't know the behavior of Algerian women in Paris, But I know a girl of good family doesn't stop to talk to a guy. Me personally, when I walk in an Algiers street I never stop for a guy who drag me because for most people who do it it is making fun of girls and done by the poorly educated. The well-educated man prefers to know their girlfriend in their workplace or university but not the street.

I just saw this discussion and I'm very sad to read so many nasty things said about Algerian girls and men
Would you explain to us how Algerian girls rejected you? May be we'll be able to help you understand Algerian mentality?? Why are you so interested by Algerian Girls??
How did you approach them? What kind of girls? Where?
Because it really depends on a lot of circumstances.
It's very different from place to another...In Algiers, Oran, Annaba (Main cities) girls are more open-mind, but in the south of the country or in Highlands girls are rather bashful...

If the girl is pretty she'll expect some body handsome
If she's educated she'll expect someone educated
    If she's religious she'll expect someone religious....etc..

Pretty, well dressed, educated girls pay attention to clothing, way of speaking...etc.

If you approach girls in the street, many wouldn't stop to talk to you....It has nothing to do with being holy or not...but in the street...I don't think it’s place to meet people....

You can approach a girl in the work, at universities if you’re student…etc. but politely and courteously...

Some body said that Algerian girls are not pretty!!! Well you don't like Algerian girls...big deal!!!

Algerian Girls are pretty, and there is all kind of beauty...brunette, blonde, red

Southern girls are so beautiful brunette (especially Tergui women)

Picture of the Kahina as a 7th century female Berber (chaoui) religious and military leader,

Lalla Fatma Nsoumer was an important figure of the Kabyle resistance movement during the first years of the French colonial conquest of Algiers.

Djamila Bouhired is an Algerian nationalist. Raised in a middle-class family, she went to a French school and joined the Algerian National Liberation Front (FLN) while a student activist. Later, she worked as a liaison officer and personal assistant of FLN commander Yacef Saadi in Algiers.

To the person who said that Algerian girls are not pretty I respond with an Algerian proverb “when they fail to reach the grape, they say it is bitter”

Algerian girls are beautiful by their bravery, courage, patience and they have always proved it.

Concerning Arab men, when I was a student I had some Palestinian and Syrian friends (boys) they were so polite and well educated…my friends (girls) introduced me to them; I kept good memories about them.

We Algerian girls aren’t racist …we don’t hate or despise anybody…

But a girl can be suspicious when a foreigner person (Arab or not) is interested to her, he might be not serious….and there are a lot of other reasons, differences of traditions and culture….

So don’t judge blindly and don’t generalize because of one thing that can happen to you.

I think the first two pictures are identical and both may be of Lalla Fatma Nsoumer?

Hi i have the feeling that Algeria is a mediterranean country and "western" middle east, but a lot of people from this countries from middle east and north africa has emigrated to europe or elsewhere is not dry, in brazil the same thing has happened, people emigrated from the dry places to the wet places, however i can see by this photos that the cities as ancient Carthago have lots of people from europe, people in Lebanon are not like in Saudi Arabia, you see the saudis have some blood of west african, as syrian and lebanon people has mediterranean blood of the phoenicians, the term arab is not accurate, because have berber, phoenicians, west africa, turk, central asia, i have seen photos of algerian women, is very clear that they have european blood, i think algeria is the most european country of north africa, people in Iran looks nearly european, of course it's because of the latitude, some iran, algeria people don't looks arab, Lalla Fatma Nsoumer looks more european for example.
