    The battle of Algiers, I’ve heard it’s a really good film about the 1950’s Algerian independence from France.

    Was it not banned before because of the sheer violence the film portrayed khoya ?

    Hi houda,
    yes it was banned in france (obviously they would).
    whatever it portrayed, it was the truth, a very realistic film, one of the best ever made picturing revolutions , a reference and must-see for everybody because it is very relevant to the situation nowadays on the international scene.
