400 thousand children diagnosed with kidney cancer in Algeria

Last estimates show that some 400 thousand children were diagnosed with kidney cancer in Algeria according to professor Salem, an imminent specialist of children's surgery in Paris.

He also declared that the used treatment is 80% efficient and ailing children can lead a normal life, which is quite promising regarding in comparison to the previous years where only 30% of them could live. In case of treatment failure, the professor further added, the organ's extraction was necessary for keeping the ailing children alive.

Kidney cancer is the most spread type among children. It represents 75 % of cases registered in kids aged between 1 and 5 years.

This type of cancer could be dangerous if not diagnosed and cured early despite the proven efficiency of the surgical and chemical therapy complemented with radiotherapy sessions.
