September 7, 2009 -- An injectable "biogel" that may help wounded soldiers and car crash victims recover from brain injuries could be tested on patients in three years, it was claimed today. The material, containing synthetic and natural chemicals, spurs on the growth of neural stem cells which repair damaged nerves. Details of the work were presented today at the Military Research Forum in Kansas City. Dr Ning Zhang, of Clemson University in South Carolina, said: "These results that we are seeing in adult lab rats … show a sustained functional recovery in the animal model of TBI (traumatic brain injury)."

'spurs the growth of neural stem cells'? mashallah How is that I wonder. I know that once a brain cell dies, it's un-repairable. Also they're not like other body cells. they don't divide. (only few in certain places)
so this is a new light..
It seems as if one fails to conceive
The meaning my name strives to achieve
To a biological form you cannot relate-
Because a reproductive cell is a gamete not gamate!
It means to unite, -to become consolidated
So without me in a.com, is there hope we'd be amalgamated?

Neurolinguists tell us that when a certain area of the brain is damaged [aphasia], sometimes its functions are taken on by another area in its proximity, 'as if coming to its rescue!', masha'Allah. So, with appropriate language therapy, the victim could recover lost functions, but apparently not all stored memory details, which were presumably 'imprinted' in the damaged cells. [ Like computers?!]
