December 28, 2009 (TAP) -- The city of Tabarka Saturday played host to the first Tunisian-Algerian Dental Medical Days, held with the participation of 250 Tunisian and Algerian dental surgeons, heads of teaching hospital services and representatives of specialised scientific associations. Secretary of State in charge of Hospitals Najoua Miladi underlined that this Tunisian-Algerian scientific meeting shows the common will to develop specialised medical researches in the two countries, emphasising the significant change experienced by dental surgery in Tunisia. Tunisia, she noted, has 420 hospital doctors and 50 university hospital doctors in this specialty, in addition to 125 interns and 50 residents. She also said that the Dentistry Faculty of Monastir hosts about one thousand students. These Days are held by the Tunisian Union of General Practice Dentists, in collaboration with the regional council of dental surgeons in the Algerian city of Annaba.
