    "The event that shaped the Algeria of today was the invasion by France in 1830 - supposedly because of a slap with a fan.

    The ruler at the time was Dey Hussein. The French version says that he unprovokedly hit the French Consul Pierre Deval with his fan during an audience in April 1827, bringing down the government's ire and the invasion three years later."

    Hussein Dey slapped the guy with a fly swatter .. LOL !!!!


    Also, in 1817 the French government owed Hussein Dey 18 million francs. We were selling them wheat on credit. How the mighty have fallen ...

    We need more Hussein-Dey's !

    nowadays, unfortunately, there is a lack of men (in the tyrant regime of course)and instead of slapping ennemies, they are slapping their people.
