1er Festival du Cinéma du Maghreb, Brest, January 30th - February 13th

Un collectif d’associations brestoises organise le premier festival du cinéma du Maghreb à Brest.

En effet, sur l’initiative de l’association ADeLCA, six structures se sont retrouvées autour de l’idée d’un festival du 7éme art maghrébin. Soutenues par la Cinémathèque de Bretagne, par l’association Côté Ouest et par la Ville de Brest, Adelca, l’AAPRI, l’AFPS, l’AFT, France-Algérie et SOS Racisme 29 ont concocté un programme d’une dizaine de films du Maroc, d’Algérie et de Tunisie.

C’est donc du 30 janvier jusqu’au 13 février au cinéma Les Studios que le public brestois pourra découvrir un cinéma venu d’ailleurs.

Les organisateurs veulent privilégier la "dimension sociale du cinéma" en faisant du festival "une véritable plateforme d’échanges et de rencontres".

On annonce d’ailleurs la venue du cinéaste marocain Omar Chraïbi avec son dernier film, Rahma.

The First Festival of Maghreb Cinema opened in Brest, France, on Tuesday (January 30th). Organised by several local associations, the event - which runs through February 13th - will feature ten films from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Moroccan scenario writer Omar Chraïbi will present his last film "Rahma." According to organizers, their objective is to provide a real platform for cultural dialogue and exchange by giving preference to the "social dimensions of the cinema".
