    9th International Film Festival of Marrakech


    December 6, 2009 -- The 9th International Film Festival of Marrakech (FIFM) opened on Friday (December 4th), MAP reported. Fifteen films will compete through December 12th for the Etoile d'Or, the prize of the jury, and the best actor and actress awards. The international jury includes French actress Fanny Ardant, Palestinian director Elia Suleiman, British director Mike Figgis and Indian actress Nandita Das.

    December 13, 2009 -- The 9th Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) ended on Saturday (December 12th) with the Etoile d'Or award presentation for Mexican director Rigoberto Perezcano's film Northless. Belgian-Moroccan filmmaker Nabil Ben Yadir's The Barons and Malaysian director Charlotte Lim's My Daughter shared the jury prize. Fifteen films from fifteen nations competed in this year's edition.
