Algerian university students to perform at Moroccan theatre event

April 23, 2010 -- Student actors from Batna University will represent Algeria next week at the Marrakech International University Theatre Festival, APS reported on Thursday (April 22nd). The "El Kawkab" theatrical troupe will be among many groups of Arab and European student performers taking part in the April 25th-30th event.

La troupe El Kawkab (Batna) représente l'Algérie au festival du théâtre universitaire au Maroc

BATNA, Samedi 24 Avril 2010 -- La troupe El Kawkab de l'université de Batna représentera l'Algérie au 4e festival international du théâtre universitaire prévu du 25 au 30 avril à Marrakech (Maroc), a indiqué mercredi le président de l'Association de promotion des activités culturelles de cette l'université. Selon Yacine Boubchich, la troupe participera avec la pièce Zoudj min dhahab (Un duo en or) écrite par Larbi Boulbina et mise en scène par Mabrouk Feroudji. El Kawkab entend se distinguer au cours de ce rendez-vous théâtral qui réunira des troupes de plusieurs pays arabes et européens, a affirmé le responsable de l'Association qui a rappelé que la troupe avait obtenu, en 2009, le prix de la meilleure interprétation féminine, décroché par l'étudiante Zahra Demongé pour son rôle dans la pièce Adjras (cloches) de Boulbina.

Marrakech hosts International University Theatre Festival

April 27, 2010 -- The 4th Marrakech International Festival of University Theatre opened on Monday (April 26th). Student acting troupes from North African, Arab and European universities are expected to stage more than a dozen theatrical performances during the four-day event. In early April, Fes hosted the 5th International Festival of University Theatre (FITUF).
