Hi Lazzhar
thank you for your interest, my wife (which is Dutch) has some problems to come there to live because her country still think that Algeria is a dangerous country. Anyway we have a small child (3 months old) and she is wondering how the hospitals are, how is there the normal live, if is dangerous go to do shopping or walking alone in a street, if is dangerous drive a car during the day or afternoon alone, if there are opportunities to find jobs also for her (she can teach English or she can do a secretary jobs, she got the degree in psychology).
Actually I think to come to work there alone for 2 or 3 months, I will go to work near Oran, city where I would like rent an apartment for my family.
Do you know if the day-care are good and is it possible bring my child in a Italian day-care and schools.
Best regards
Giacomo

giacomo....
your gonna be fine...... including safety.... Algeria is ALOT more safe than it was a while ago.... ive been there for many summers over the past few years and ive enjoined it so much
your definelty gonna be safe in oran (wahran in arabic) .. its a big and BEAUTIFUL city .... check out the pictures on the other threads
its not dangerous to walk alone... ive done it many times.... however, since you are new to the culture and im assuming dont speak the language .. itll be good to travel either with someone who does or with someone in general...
shopping is SOOOOO fun in algeria.. im sure ur wife is going to have SOO much fun doing that .... i got sooo many clothes and shoes at a very good affordable price..
its not dangerous to drive the car around ... during .. afternoon .... at night time u should try and avoid that only cause the roadways dont have really good lighting.... :P
ur wife can teach english... i noe of an american women who married an algerian man and is now living in algeria... and she has started to teach english classes to the ppl there
there are no day cares in italian.. this is algeria not italy.... :P
the hospitals could be better... but theyre certainly not the worst
