I've been into the wonderful world of Rai (and Khaled) for quite a long time now. By the time, I learned the Algerian Darija and made some Algerian/Moroccan friends. Though, something still annoys me.... I don't understand what "ou ya" means exactly in the middle of a conversation? It's even difficult for my Moroccan friends to translate it for me... what does it exactly mean? For example, one of the words that used to annoy me was "wah", which I already know its meaning now (sorta lika Wallah). But what's "ou ya" ?

NOTE: I surely know what the two words separately mean. E.g. "ou" = and, and "ya" = used for calling a name, e.g. ya Khaled = hey Khaled

More words....
Hey,
Seems there's no specific translation to that... I guess it's something that you say in between phrases and that's it (maybe to make pronounciation stylish or easier or better or whatever).
Though, I have another question:
What's a "Megwa"? As in "Megwani Nasser ou Mzine" or "Megwani N3ani" ?
merci, adieu.

i'm guessing here, but i think 'ou ya' is equivilant to 'ahhhhh' or an exclaimation of something distressing.... but literally, it means 'and hey/yeah'...
