My Profile… First, I am a born-again Christian. I was born in Baltimore City, Maryland raised in Harford County, Maryland. I moved to Baltimore City when I turned 18. I lived there for 7 years, then moved to Algeria with my hubby and then 2 boys in May 2003. I just had a baby girl in October. She was born here in Setif. I love her to death. It is so different having a girl. I used a midwife. A much different experience than the using a midwife from the states. My mission here in Setif, is to make a difference somehow. I still have a bit of a language barrier. Call me lazy if you like, but I really do want to learn. I am not shy when it comes to speaking my mind. But it doesn’t go far when people only understand a quarter of what I say. I also want to start a business here. Not much difference as far as opportunities than the states. Someone here may say there is. But if you have the right mind-set nothing can stop you, wherever you are. More to come…

3afwan, you are welcome, I just thought that as we often have visitors asking 'what would it be like?' it would be useful to have some impressions from someone who has made the move.

As for the age, I am too much of a gentleman (and too fond of self-preservation), to make disparaging comments about a woman's age!

Nevertheless, I have to point out that men acquire title to gentlemanhood in their......ties. Being a lady (and also caring to preserve our friendship), I will refrain from divulging such information.

I discovered this blog a few weeks ago and I think she's doing a really good job.

And I zagree Pandora, Setif is probably the cleanest city in Algeria and I am happy that I spent 16 years of my life there
