Algeria.com New Look

Well I think it's cool, but I shall miss the old look, too! How about you ?

Over the years, Algeria.com has had more new looks than Biyouna, and no doubt this one won't be the last. Some of the changes this time around are related to enhanced features on the home page, the addition of Arabic and French-language RSS news feeds, improved site searchability, a video clip feed, alerts re: new forum posts/ discussions, the inclusion of a member log-in facility on the home page etc.

(And I was only teasing about Biyouna - far crueller things are said about the Lebanese singer Sabah, e.g. "What's the difference between Sabah and Hezbollah?" ~ "Sabah has done more operations")

I'm not sure if that's a 'your settings' problem or what it is. When the techie people are in in the morning I'll check with them and hopefully we'll find some solutions.

While improved search tools, RSS and all the other goodies are inevitably great for driving more ad results to boost Paley's bottom line, what a bummer that the site no longer functions for all us die-hard Netscape browser users! Believe it or not, there are actually advantages to keeping sites simpler as they are more likely to remain compatible with older systems and tools, which are still most widely used in what Microsoft calls the "emerging markets."

IE is cool and all, but tends to allow more bugs to creep in. FireFox rocks. Netscape totally rocks. Can you ask the dev guys to make the site pretty for all 3? : )
