Hi guys i am english and i married my algerian husband on the 12th of october 2009 we have applied for a visa and are still waiting on any news from the british embassy in algeires we submitted our aplication via the world bridge service on the 5th of november 2009 and still have heard nothing!! has anyone else been in this situation and has anyone got any advice on how to speed things up and who i can talk too. i have contacted my m.p i miss him so much im so lost and feel like im hitting my head on a brick wall any information would be great x![]()

My husband and I applied in January last year and the decision took about 5 weeks, its a lot quicker now that they send everything to London (but means if there is a backlog in London, then there is a backlog in Algiers), because for those who had applied in about September/Oct last year, when they were still deciding them in Algiers, it took until about January for a decision (3-4 months) you can probably search this forum and see the bag of nerves that some of the women got into whilst waiting. On the bright side, I believe its incredibly rare for interviews to occur, so what you say on your application goes and they don't ask any further questions. There is no need to get your mp to get involved unless you need to appeal the decision, but I think Algeria has quite a high yes rate in comparison to some other countries. There are ususally stats pages on how long it is currently taking...
