Hi everyone (and Hi for those who might remember me)
I noticed the last time i logged on to this website was in Oct 2008...quite a long time ago...i wouldnt have remembered it even existed if i havent received an email from Algeria.com news updates...so...good thing you people send those updates...u can get back some pple sometimes
Anyways..i had a quick look to the subjects of this forum...and it looks exactly the same as i first saw it a couple of years ago...lots of bouliiitiiik lol lots of..oh we dont understand algerian men/women, what do u want! lol
My point is...i think it is very representative of our community...little development has been made in a psychosocial context...we might think or feel that we are different from before...but only our life styles have changed..not our mentalities....
I recently met a guy (Algerian of course) who dumped me because i didnt wanna have sex with him => wow, what an evolution of algerian guys so opened to sex now!
I recently read on the newspapers that militaries and civilians have been killed in algeria => what an evolution of our security system, isnt Boutef the god of peace zaama lol
I recently see that the algerian news is cut for prayer calls (sorry i know im late but i've just discovered that!) => wow!!!! what an evolution of our love to god!!
My post is not for anybody to reply to...it is just my way to say salamou aalikoum![]()

w/salam w alf mar7aba ya NinaGucci,
Good to see you flying safe in the world, and happy that you escaped the clutches of an Algerian octopus - those guys have forgotten the real meaning of 'armed struggle', eh?
Sadly you're right that ugly and shameful acts of violence continue to be carried out in Algeria by deluded fanatics, add to that the simmering social discontent, the corruption and other problems and it is clear that Algeria and its people still have a lot of hard work to accomplish before real stability and peace are established.
But it is not all bad news either, there are little successes and marks of progress being made there every day, so don't give up hope!

"...the Franks do not consider it wrong for an unmarried woman to give herself to an unmarried man..."
~ a shocked Imad al-Din, writing of the warped ideas of the Frankish invaders, after the defenders of Acre had attacked the market of wine shops and brothels that the besieging Franks had set up in their camp in 585.
Times change, morality becomes elastic, eh?
Don't worry about the forum, it gets thousands of visitors a day now. If there are few 'talkers' there'll always be new ones along and there's enough material in here to keep people busy for years.

Here's a little tip to help your powers of observation:
Imad al-Din made his comment because the behavior he witnessed was shocking - to a Muslim. It's not about 'moral standards' - Islam hasn't changed has it?
So what gives certain Algerian Muslims the idea that they have some kind of 'dispensation' that they're not entitled to - if they want to call themselves Muslims?
