Strong views
I'm sure there will be many strong views expressed about this, although I don't have time at present to elaborate.
Many people confuse the issue, by assuming gay people are not capable of raising a child 'properly'. I dispute this. Plenty of straight people do not raise their children with love and care. Some do not even want them. Some are so poor or ill they cannot take care of them.
The most important issue is the quality of the relationship, not the DNA. The quality of the relationship depends on the 'parents' (biological or adoptive) 'parenting skills'. Their sexual orientation is not relevant unless they have a perversion for children, which is a totally different matter completely.
I think the most important qualities of 'good parenting' are love and affection, encouraging the child to grow emotionally, socially and intellectually, as well as taking care of their physical needs.
The parents do not have to be biological or heterosexual, to enable these to occur.

I have been meaning to get back to this one
For those of you ladies and gentlemen fortunate to have parents, and live in the ideal world......yes I'm sure mummy and daddy is the ideal, but.......we don't live in the ideal world. Orphanages are full of kids who do not have any parents. Some are abandoned through poverty, others have no living relatives able to care for them....the list goes on. Plenty of teenage, and sometimes even younger kids live on the streets as feral - like wild animals.
The question we have to ask, I think, is, "Is it better for these kids in orphanages, and feral kids to have no 'parents' at all, or to have gay parents?
Yes we'd all like them to have the 'ideal' family, but is a slightly less than ideal family, better than no family at all? Who is to provide them with love, care, food, shelter, warmth? Employees of the orphanage who go home to their own families, no-one at all, or gay parents?
I believe their is now an 'etiquette' for gay parents.
The feminine one in the relationship is called by the diminutive i.e mummy or daddy. The masculine one in the relationship is called by the short form dad or mum. It's just a question of society coming to terms with these changes in relationships.
Come on forumists, let's open our minds to the real world, not the lucky world of those who have parents to take for granted..............

PD
I open my mind and say a big loud "NO" to gay parents, you might think I'm old fashioned..I'd rather be
The gay thing is all freaks and queers and they will always be, no matter how some hypocrites try to make it look normal...well my dear it is not and will never be
Look what god made of the people of Lot
few years ago, the gay word had a positive description of a man, today hypocrites are trying to associate it with freaks who betray their poo hole and their intestins, what a joke ????
Orphans are still human beings and need both parents,...that's nature my dear
Ciao

Contraception
Sorry to be the one to remove your rose tinted glasses but 'betray their poo hole' as you so childishly put it, is the most commonly practised method of contraception in heterosexual relationships in poor countries. It used to be so, in the West also until rubber condoms were invented in about the 1920s. Also please note that Islam only forbids it between two men, not a man and a boy, which is why it is so widely practised in Islamic countries amongst men and boys. We all know that men have a high sex drive. How do you think they satisfy that when the women won't do it for them without a wedding ring. The average age of marriage for men in Algeria is 32 years. What do you think they are doing between puberty and the age of 32 years - masturbating in the toilet? Why do you think parents are so keen to marry men off, eh?
Grow up sonny, you've a lot to learn.
