A former U.S. Marine who participated in capturing ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said the public version of his capture was fabricated.

Ex-Sgt. Nadim Abou Rabeh, of Lebanese descent, was quoted in the Saudi daily al-Medina Wednesday as saying Saddam was actually captured Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, and not the day after, as announced by the U.S. Army.

"I was among the 20-man unit, including eight of Arab descent, who searched for Saddam for three days in the area of Dour near Tikrit, and we found him in a modest home in a small village and not in a hole as announced," Abou Rabeh said.

"We captured him after fierce resistance during which a Marine of Sudanese origin was killed," he said.

He said Saddam himself fired at them with a gun from the window of a room on the second floor. Then they shouted at him in Arabic: "You have to surrender. ... There is no point in resisting."

"Later on, a military production team fabricated the film of Saddam's capture in a hole, which was in fact a deserted well," Abou Rabeh said.

Abou Rabeh was interviewed in Lebanon.
Lol I dont know whether to believe this guys but one thing for sure: may be saddam was bad like Hitler, Mousloulouni....But he was a leader . It is quite obvious he was "Rajel" man, refusing to surrender before the war when millions of $$$$$ by everybody were suggested to him to surrender in a hole, I mean just look at his sons they fought until the last minute, let alone their father who raised them.

P.s also still now he refuses to admit he had done wrong in the court!

A Shame such strong Men deployed their strength in evil.

Out of topic, but U might be interested to detect some lies (or truths) in http://www.anp.org
I know that ONE of their stories is true for sure, but it's funny how many details they give sometimes. Makes one wonder if they did not use their imaginations to make a scenario worth making a film

Which one do you think is true ?

Reading some of those stories sends a chill down my spine. Brutality does not get any worse than that.

I don't think MAOL is an organization with much influence or clout. If it were, they would have acted by now.

Does it matter if they found him in a whole or if he was fighting against them till to the last minute ? Does it matter if they captured him a day earlier or a day later ? Does this story matter at all ?? I personaly realy don't care if the americans make of him a ridiculous, stupid, crazy person or if he was a great, but evil leader.. He will have what he deserves .. The americans are not better then him, anyway what they ever gonna tell about him.. For me those are just 2 devils fighting each other..

    Hi FlyingHorse,

That's your opinion, and I'm sure that to many people it does matter I got a lot of feedback from people around and most of them said they have preferred to see him die the way his sons died rather than be caught hiding in a hole. After all I hold him responsible for bringing shame to the middle east by his crazy adventures which only gave reason to other parties to make their move in that strategic region of the world.Things are changing now and I hope we will suceed in getting rid of all the dictators in that region

    MrMean

PS: Two devils fighting each other maenwhile thousand of civilians who have done nothing wrong are dying. Don't tell me collateral damage
