Yeah ! The plane flew just fine. Not sure how many were made. The idea here is technology transfer and develop our own aerospace industry.
I am not sure why we are not following China and India examples buying a license from Russia to build Mig aircrafts in Algeria and import the technology in the process.

Looks like a paper plane to me with a used 404 bachee engine...even howard hughe's first airplane model back in the 30's was more attractive than ours..

Indeed that was our first step.
The second step is under way. We are now building a plane with russian assistance. This plane will be a jet propelled aircraft equipped with the latest technology.
