Yup yup yup, we're here!
Hi there alololox! Can you see me waving?

I've lived in West Yorkshire for nealy 19 years, and like you, I haven't met many Algerians here.
However, I can assure you they are here. For some reason, they tend to keep a low profile. Maybe there's a very good reasons for that, so I wouldn't like to speculate.
One place you will definitely meet Algerians is in the Mosque. The Grand Mosque in Burley, Leeds is one of them. Ramadhan and Eids are good times to meet them. You will have to make guesses and introduce yourself, otherwise forget it; they don't carry a flag of Algeria with them. Compare this with Algerians in America, and it's a very different story (check on the Net). Over there, they even wear specially made T-shirts when they meet up with their families for all sorts of celebrations, parties, etc. I just wish it was the same here!
We are just NOT organised up here in West Yorkshire.
So, there you are. You're not alone, even though it seems like it.
I will be very interested to read your comments.

hello there BACK2MYROOTS ! ! !
yes i can see you!!! look i am waving back!!!
LoL
hard to believe!!! 19 yrs and you've never meet algerians ! wow that's just amazing! i believe after 2000 lots Algerians started to move to the north! first time i moved here to be exacte to Halifax, i met one guy who was on his own, one brave guy who kept proudly repeating himself that " he was the only Algerian here" hhh! referring to it as it was a bonus! ...don't ask me why!
i believe he moved to leeds since then, as for me i won't say i never met Algerians here ..au contraire
i met some really good Algeriens, we had tea while watching El-jazeera and lot lot lot of football games! you see what i mean! well, they were quite busy guys too with second jobs and overtimes! life was hard! and still it is and i guess life is life and life has its priorities! maybe in the otherside in the US Algerians are more relaxed!
know, it seems that there's Algerian families living here with their kids, i met a couple who were over their 50's (introduced to me by no-algerians) i think if they get organised that would be a great idea! i just noticed how some middle east and some baltic , balkans countries are well orginized! they have even their cultural centres for meeting and celebrations
well, BACK2MYROOTS ...emmm! keep waving
