Wld just like to announce the birth of our son Adam on the 15th September. Myself & my husband Farid (both of us 40 and this being a first child for us both) are very tired but very happy! He certainly looks more like his Berber Daddy than Mummy and is very beautiful.

OK, how about some stats??? Did I even get close??? I know I said the 10th, but what about the 8lbs 7oz???? Adam is a stellar name, by the way. Especially for the first boy!!! Bravo!!!

Thanks
'Sumo' baby wasn't big in the end(thank god) he weighed 7 pound-the midwife made an over-ambitious estimation.
By the way what is a stellar name? Husband let me choose the name as long as it was a Muslim one-didn't realise Adam was a Muslim name but it is ideal as it is also widely used in England.
Untypical of Algerian men(it would seem)my husband was there at the birth -not waiting outside. After the experience he doesn't seem eager to repeat the exercise in a hurry!
As for the language-that would have to be up to my husband.I have tried to get my tongue round some words-the throaty sounds are difficult when you've never been used to speaking that way.
Have a few books now for him to learn later about his North African roots.
Daddy is on the night-shift now for the milk-run!
Thanks
Tracey

Dear Tracey,
nice to hear from you!
Um,..."Stellar" is slang for "awesome.., wonderful, groovy,..." etc. I thought the name was especially nice since it commonly refers to the first man, and this being your first son,...well...
The language I was referring to was, of course, baby talk! One of my girlfriends recently had a baby and she swers that she cna make absolute sense of every garble, burp and bubble. Got me, I like children much more AFTER thay have learned a language that I can use with them!
I see I overestimated the weight, but that is good for you, no? A friend of mine had a preemie two weeks ago, and he weighed 2 lbs, 7 oz. He is fine though. Doing well.
Night shift??? Welcome to the up-all-night club!!! grab your naps when you can. They will come in handy.
Hope things continue to go well for you. Hang in there!
Take care,
Best regards,
Addison
