Omarium, I read your thread to Wisdom Seeker saying you had the experience of bringing your wife to Canada. I too am in the same situation as Wisdom Seeker and will be travelling to Algeria this summer, in the hopes that they will allow me to marry my fiance. Are you not of Algerian descent? And did you have such a huge problem marrying , I am assuming in Algeria, because of your foreign descent? I am a black woman born in Canada. My parents are Jamaican.
Hello Wisdom Seeker, sorry I've been so busy. Will get in touch.
Thanks,
Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,
In fact I am Algerian, the troubles I had were with the immigration Canada where it took me up to 14 months to get my wife here instead of 06 months .In you case the problem you gonna probably face will be to get the wedding certificate cause In Algeria every woman who gets married needs to have a tutor which is usually a father or a brother .I guess your fiance has to inq about how to go about this situation , to make sure that when you get there you'll have the certificate very quickly and spend some time with your fiancé.If you need any assistance let me know.
Take care

I know that message was meant for Dorothy.. but i have to say that obtaining a marriage certificate shouldnt be impossible. I got one.. mind you its taken 3 months from the date i did the religious ceremony. I cant say that my husband knows anyone in high places either.. so there wasnt even anyone to bribe really. It was just a matter of dogging them until they get tired of seeing your face and give you what you want so they never have to see you again.Originally posted by omarium

hi wisdom_seeker,
When i sent the application nobody got in touch with me and the best of all is ,if i did not move i think i will be still waiting now .If you ever face a long wait and the immigration dont do anything about it you'll have to contact the federal MP of you area trust me that it is gonna help you a lot.In my case i contacted the MP and 7 weeks later I received a call from him saying that everything is ok and i should get letter inviting my wife to go get her immigration Visa which i did 15 days later.GUYS just keep that in mind it will be helpful.
all right let me know guys
