PARIS, April 12 (KUNA) -- France's Council for the Muslim Faith (CFCM) on Thursday issued a strong statement expressing concern and emotion at what it described as the "condemnable acts" perpetrated in Algeria and Morocco over these past three days.
The Board of the Council, headed by Dr. Dalil Boubaker, expressed "strong emotion and extreme consternation faced with the spectre of a resurgence of terrorist violence" affecting the innocent lives of people in Algeria and Morocco.
Over 30 people have died in terrorist attacks and suicide operations over the past three days in those nations and there was another incident in Casablanca on Thursday.
The CFCM extended its deepest condolences to the families of those affected and to the two countries hit by the violence. "The Board of the Council expresses its worry faced with the criminal pretexts invoked at the origin of these condemnable acts," the statement said.
Boubaker, who signed the statement, recalled in the name of the Board that "Islam, a religion of peace, dialogue and tolerance, promotes the absolute respect of human life." He affirmed that because of this, "Islam condemns all acts of violence perpetrated in its name" and the CFCM urged all Muslims in France to work and be vigilant to preserve peace here.

New Delhi, Apr 12 : India on Thursday strongly condemned yesterday's terrorist attacks in the Algerian capital, Algiers, which resulted in the death of about 25 innocent people and injured hundreds.
"Terrorism is a heinous crime and cannot be condoned in any form. The international community should cooperate closely to counter terrorism everywhere with renewed resolve and total firmness," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a release issued here today.
At least 25 people were killed and over 200 others were injured in two strong car bombs explosions on Wednesday afternoon. One blast occurred at the parking lot of Prime Minister's Palace and the other one in front of a police station at city's Baab ul-Zowwar District.
The Ad-Da'wa wal-Jihad Salafi group, which has merged with al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
