    Question Kiyam - plz explain...

    Salam,

Dear brothers And sisters hope u r all doing well during this holly month of Ramadhan & that u managed to get close to Allah, the Almighty and Allknowing, and made ur hearts clear of the imprities of evil.
As some of u know already,Im muslim revert. I accepted this beautiful path of following Allah's orders some time ago and Ikeep on imporoving my knowledge about Islam and culture, especially Algerian cuz i like it and respect much, all the time, but still have some points which would require deeper explanation.
I would be trully grateful if u would be so kind to help me and explain things 4 me by answering my questions. i know sometimes u gonna think they r stupid cuz 4 u some things are obvious, but I am still a beginning student of Allah and his religion and culture so 4 me sometimes even apparently stupid things r of big importance. So if u would be able to help me some I would greatly appreciate.
So, if possible could somebody explain me in detail ,what is it, as well as details of how to make it appropriately, about KIYAM?!!! I have found its a kain of Ramadhan night salaat, but have no furter info on this.
Thank u in advance for help and let Allah listens to all of ur requests and sends His blessings on u in those last days of Ramadhan.

    Salams mirage

Kiyam aka Kiyam el Layl (meaning waking up at night) can be done at any time of the year. All it is is to just wake up anytime between isha and fajr prayers and/or remember and pray/supplicate to Allah. Its reward is multiplied x 70 in ramadan (as all good deeds are) so that's why you see a lot of mosques hosting kiyams at that time.

tarawee7 prayer is a form of kiyam, cuz it's after isha, but sometimes you hear about these all night kiyams at mosques where they bring speakers for ~spiritual enlightenment~ and then do some more prayers and duas (supplication).

At the end of a qiyam, you pray an odd number of rakaas (either one, three, five, etc...) called "witir" .. that's like the seal at the end of the qiyam ...

sorry if i confused you, lol .. keep asking questions. and anyone else, if i'm wrong (=S) please tell me
